Brittany Scantland-Lall, Esq.
Law touches all areas of life, and that is one of the things Brittany has always found most interesting about it. While she was always interested in estate planning following a great pro bono experience in law school, she dove into the area following the birth of her daughter, to whom she often refers to as her “jr associate.” She loves the process of working one-on-one with clients, developing relationships, providing counseling and education, and then tailoring documents to fit specific needs. Clients can get a stack of documents from lots of sources, but they gain a relationship and education working with an attorney. Estate planning is for everyone–no matter the size of the “estate.” It’s the gift a person leaves to friends and family – a plan – so that loved ones have clarity and a road map when that person is gone.
Brittany was born and raised (mostly) in North Carolina. She attended Duke University for undergraduate work in religious studies before moving to Colorado for law school at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. What she thought was going to be a three-year stay turned into fourteen years, a husband (Alex), a master’s degree in religious studies, a career in both municipal law and teaching at the Business Ethics and Legal Studies Department at the University of Denver, a love of the Rocky Mountains, a dutiful cat, and an ultimately houndish dog. Brittany and Alex relocated to North Carolina to be closer to family prior to the birth of their daughter.
In her spare time… who are we kidding? She has a small person at home–she has no spare time right now, but she loves it.
